Announcing, without building a factory

A full blog is often too much: too many settings, too many pages, too much upkeep. This module does what actually helps — publish a dated, illustrated text in the right language, and take it down on its own when the time comes.

The removal date, the one that changes everything

You announce a show in March: you set the removal date to the day after it closes. On that day the announcement disappears without you thinking about it. No more "closed for holidays" showing in October.

What you set for each article

• Publication date and removal date.
• Pinning at the top of the list, for real emergencies.
• An illustration, resized to your theme's formats.
• A link to an outside site, when you have nothing to write yourself.
• Title, address and description for search engines.

On the shop

Three things, and not one more: a list page at /news, showing your articles as cards, twenty to a page; one page per article, at an address built from its title; and an optional block on the home page, showing the latest articles or a random draw. All in your theme's style, with no extra stylesheet.

The short note and the article

Fill in only the title and the summary and you get a short note: it appears in the list and on the home page, with no page of its own. As soon as you write body text, the article gets its own page. You choose without thinking about it, simply by writing or not.

Pointing to a partner

An external link field replaces the article page: the card sends the reader straight to your partner, a supplier or a press article. You announce without having to write.

Pinning

A pinned article always comes first — even in the home block set to a random draw. Keep it for real emergencies: pinning three articles is the same as pinning none.

One entry, not one per language

Articles are written once and shown as they are to every visitor: the module does not keep a version per language, and does not separate the shops of a multistore installation. Write in the language of your main audience; an automatic translation module takes care of the rest.

What protects your shop

No network call on display. Published text is filtered when saved: the module accepts formatting, never a script.

What you get, depending on your shop

This module comes in 2 versions, one per major PrestaShop release. You get them all: one purchase, one licence, and you pick the file when you download.

• Version 1.0.3 — PrestaShop 9.0.0.0 to 9.99.99, PHP 8.1 or above.
• Version 1.0.4 — PrestaShop 1.7.0.0 to 8.99.99, PHP 7.1 or above.

Your customer account lists every version with its limits spelled out, and highlights the one matching your shop. Nothing stops you taking the other: if you are preparing a migration, or working on several sites, it is there, on the same licence.
