Abandoned cart reminder — two chases, the second with a code
The cart left behind
A customer fills a cart, then something interrupts them. The phone, a doubt about shipping, hesitation between two references. They do not come back. That cart was almost an order: they had chosen, they were on your shop, all that was missing was a reminder.
This module writes to those customers, twice, and puts their cart back with one click.
Two reminders, and the second has an argument
The first goes out a few hours after the cart is abandoned, with no discount: often it is enough to remind someone the cart exists. The second goes later, with a discount code, for the one who hesitated on price.
Both delays are set in hours. The second counts from the first reminder, not from the abandonment: you control the real gap between the two messages. Beyond a month nothing goes out: an old cart interests nobody, and prices may have changed.
The cart comes back with one click
The button in the email brings the customer straight back to their filled cart, and recognises them on the way. Nothing to retype, nothing to find again, and no need to remember a password. This is PrestaShop's own mechanism, the one your shop already uses when you send a cart to a customer from the back office.
That link is worth a session key: the module only puts it in an email sent to the customer themselves, never anywhere else. One setting turns it off if you prefer the button to lead simply to the shop.
The voucher in the second reminder
An ordinary PrestaShop cart rule, in the customer's name, usable once, with a short validity: a few days, so the decision is made now. Fixed amount or percentage, minimum order, shipping: yours to set. A value of zero sends the second reminder with no discount at all.
Who gets reminded
- Registered customers only, by default: writing to someone who merely left an address without creating an account assumes an agreement they never gave.
- Nobody is reminded if they have ordered in the meantime.
- A minimum cart value, customer groups: your choice.
- A customer can refuse these emails with one click. Their decision is final and you cannot undo it.
What it brings in, in figures
The tracking screen shows first reminders, second reminders, carts actually recovered, the recovery rate and the revenue. Matching is done against real orders. After a month you will know whether the operation is worth the email it costs.
What it does not do
- It does not fire on its own: without a scheduled task, no reminder is ever sent. One line to set up at your host.
- It never sends the same reminder twice for the same cart: the guarantee sits in the database.
- It does not chase unidentified visitors: the module does not have their address, and does not try to get it.
- It changes neither your theme nor the checkout.
Installation
Upload, install, set the two delays and the voucher value, set up the scheduled task. Ten minutes. The module starts switched off: a cart reminder is the email a shop is blamed for fastest, so it should only go out once you have read everything. A button shows you who would be reminded now, without sending anything.
